Microsoft Patch Tuesday just kicked me in the balls really hard. Woke up this lovely Fall morning to a borked overnight automatic Windows update. I have been avoiding an issue for a few months, now I have no choice but deal with it.
Here comes the days long and incredibly tedious process of reinstalling Windows and all my apps, drivers, updates, scripts, plugins, configs, tweaks, tricks, hacks & cracks.
Ugh. This is the worst. Back in a few.
* 3 hours later…welp, maybe 30 years of screwing around with Windows has finally given me enough troubleshooting wisdom and patience to resolve a major problem in hours rather than days. Likely only just delaying the inevitable, but for now at least I’ll be able to rebuild everything when I want instead of stomping out an unexpected fire. I ❤ Windows.
